This folder contains three "kits" of experimental modifiers that can be used in mTropolis projects and titles. These modifiers are labeled as "experimental" for two reasons:
• Some of them are appearing in their first form, and their functionality is likely to change in future releases.
• All of them are programmed to the externalized mFactory Object Model (MOM) interface, which is currently in beta release.
The icons of experimental modifiers are marked graphically with a red dot in the top-right corner. If you are using these modifiers in projects for wide distribution, please do so with caution. mFactory does not guarantee that future releases of mTropolis will maintain compatibility with experimental modifiers. mFactory also reserves the right not to support projects that use experimental modifiers. Also, since these modifiers are programmed to the beta MOM interface, they may exhibit inconsistencies that do not affect the other modifiers.
Note that all of these experimental modifiers are provided for the Macintosh only. This is indicated by a yellow dot at the top-left corner of their icons. Several of these modifiers will likely be made available for other platforms (e.g., Windows) in a future release.

The modifier "kits" included in this folder are:
• Group 3
• MIDI
• Printing
The MIDI and Printing kits each contain a single modifier, while the Group 3 kit contains six modifiers that are documented in the mTropolis Reference Manual. For more information, refer to the "About..." files in each folder. You must have the Acrobat Reader installed to view the "About..." files for the MIDI and Printing modifiers.
Four versions of each modifier kit are provided; distinguished by their filename extensions:
• .e68 kits are for use with the mTropolis editor on a 68K Macintosh
• .ePP kits are for use with the mTropolis editor on a Power Macintosh
• .r68 kits are for use with the mTropolis player on a 68K Macintosh
• .rPP kits are for use with the mTropolis player on a Power Macintosh
To install a kit, simply copy the appropriate file(s) into the Resource folder in your mTropolis folder, then launch the mTropolis editor or player. The 68K and PowerPC kits can be stored in the same folder (for example, to use with the fat binary versions of mTropolis); only the appropriate kit will be loaded. The editor and runtime (player) kits can also be stored in the same folder.
For each editor kit installed, an option becomes available in the "Modifier Palettes" cascading menu item (found in the View menu). To display a kit's modifier palette, select it from this menu. The modifiers can then be used as you would use any modifier on the Group 1 or Group 2 palettes.
